4 Cloth Diapering "NO NO's"

There are a few very simple "NO NO's" when it comes to caring for reusable diapers.

Here are 4 main "Cloth Diapering NO NO's" to help you better understand what you’re not supposed to do while caring for your reusable diapers.

#1 NO BLEACH

- Never use bleach on your reusable diapers. Cloth diaper material is not meant to be used with bleach. It can break down and destroy the fibers of your reusable baby cloth diapers.

- There are other more "natural" ways to strip/thoroughly clean your reusable baby cloth diapers then using harmful chemical bleach on the cloth diapers.

#2 NO SOFTENERS

- Laundry softeners can leave a waxy and filmy residue on your reusable baby cloth diapers. They also can cause the cloth diapers to repel - and therefore not have as much absorbency.

#3 NO DRYER SHEETS

- Dryer sheets will have the similar effect on reusable baby cloth diapers as laundry softener will.

Why? Dryer sheets are meant to disperse with heat in the dryer and therefore go into your clothing. This is where the residue comes from - causing potential leaks.

#4 NO DIAPER CREAMS

- Diaper creams can cause a buildup in your cloth diapers.

- There ARE safe diaper creams for cloth diapers. Check brands such as Grandma El’s, BALM Baby, Simple Nature and CJ’s BUTTer.

Happy Cloth Diapering!
