EcoAble is a family-run business making reusable cloth diapers for babies, older kids with special needs, and adults, along with organic merino wool clothing for the whole family. We've been at this since 2012, and everything we sell is something we'd use ourselves.

Our story

How EcoAble started

EcoAble started in 2012 when we became parents and couldn't find cloth diapers that met our standards. The options at the time were limited, the quality was inconsistent, and nothing felt designed with real daily use in mind. So we made our own.

What began as a small line of baby cloth diapers grew as parents reached out asking for the same quality in larger sizes — first for older kids with special needs, then for adults managing incontinence. Those conversations shaped the business. Most of what we sell today exists because a customer asked for it.

Along the way we added organic merino wool clothing and blankets, working with established European manufacturers — Engel, Disana, and Reiff — whose standards matched ours.

What we make

Two product categories, both focused on reusable and natural alternatives to disposable or synthetic options.

Reusable cloth diapers
Fitted diapers, prefolds, covers, and all-in-ones in sizes ranging from newborn through adult XL. Designed for heavy wetting, overnight use, and sensitive skin. Every size uses the same core materials — organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, and wool — scaled to fit the wearer.
Organic wool apparel
Merino wool base layers, sweaters, and blankets from Engel, Disana, and Reiff. Sized for infants through adults. Wool regulates temperature, resists odor, and holds up for years — which is why it's still made the way it was a hundred years ago.

Parents who want cloth diapers that actually work overnight and through heavy wetting, without switching between three different brands to find one that fits.
Caregivers of kids with special needs
Families whose older children still need diapers — whether for autism, developmental delays, or medical reasons. Our kids' sizes go up to 80 lb, and the fit is designed to work at those sizes, not just scaled up from baby patterns.
Adults managing incontinence
Adults who want a reusable option that's comfortable, discreet enough under clothing, and doesn't feel like a medical product. Sizing goes through XL, and the covers and absorbent layers work as a system.
Manufacturing & ethics

How and where we manufacture

Transparency about how products are made matters, especially for anything that touches skin or gets washed hundreds of times. Here's what we can tell you.

Cloth diapers

Our cloth diapering products are manufactured in China in factories we've worked with for years. Safety standards for materials meet or exceed the requirements for products intended for infants and sensitive skin. Workers receive fair wages, paid time off, and reasonable hours. We visit in person periodically.

We chose China because the specialized sewing skill required for fitted diapers and complex diaper covers is concentrated there. Moving production wouldn't change the ethical picture — it would just change which country the work happens in — and we'd rather stick with partners we know.

Wool apparel

All our wool apparel comes from European manufacturers. Engel (Germany), Disana (Germany), and Reiff (Germany) are GOTS-certified or hold equivalent third-party certifications covering organic fiber sourcing, chemical use, and labor conditions. These are multigenerational family businesses; some of them have been making wool clothing the same way since the 1920s.

Yes — wool is one of the traditional materials for cloth diaper covers, so our two product lines overlap naturally. Wool's natural lanolin makes it water-resistant, breathable, and antibacterial, which is why it's used for both diaper covers and base-layer clothing.
What sizes do your cloth diapers come in?
Sizing runs from newborn through adult XL. Kids' sizes fit up to about 80 lb, and adult sizes are cut for adult body proportions rather than scaled up from children's patterns. Each product page lists specific measurements.
