Description

Overnight protection · day and night in one kit
EcoAble Pocket Cloth Diaper 2.0 Day & Night Set — Reusable Adult Cloth Diaper for Overnight Incontinence
A complete 3-piece reusable adult cloth diaper system — pocket shell with bamboo-rayon lining, snap-in insert, and high-absorbency bamboo fitted diaper — designed to keep you dry through the night and carry over into daytime use when needed.
One goal: waking up dry

Nighttime incontinence is a different challenge from daytime. You're not changing for hours, you may void multiple times, and you can't adjust your setup mid-sleep. This kit is built for exactly that — the fitted diaper worn inside the pocket shell creates a high-capacity system designed to hold through the night without leaking.

It's also a genuinely versatile day and night setup. The same shell and insert work for daytime protection on their own, and the fitted diaper steps in at night for maximum absorbency when you need it most.

How this differs from our Diaper Cover Day & Night Set
Both kits combine a shell, a snap-in insert, and a bamboo-rich fitted diaper. The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon fabric inner lining with a pocket opening and a thin built-in booster in the wet zone — more cushioned against your skin. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining, but it uses a double layer of PUL for a stronger, more durable waterproof barrier — more confidence during long overnight wear. Pocket for cushion; Cover for a tougher waterproof barrier overnight and a cover that can be wiped and reused between daytime uses.

A complete 3-piece day and night system
Shell
Pocket Cloth Diaper 2.0
Waterproof Polyurethane Laminate (PUL) outer with soft bamboo-rayon inner lining against your skin. Thin built-in booster sewn into the wet zone. Pocket opening at the back holds the absorbency in place. Used for both day and night.
Insert
Snap-In Insert
Bamboo-rayon outer, microfiber core. Snaps into the shell for daytime protection. At night, placed on top of the fitted diaper inside the shell for additional capacity.
Nighttime layer
Fitted Diaper
70% bamboo-rayon / 30% cotton outer, 100% bamboo-rayon inner. Full-coverage high-absorbency layer with elastics at the legs and back waist. Worn inside the shell for overnight use.

Two setups — one for day, one for night
Daytime
Shell + snap-in insert
Standard daytime setup. Lower profile, reliable light to moderate protection for everyday wear. The shell's built-in wet-zone booster adds a small amount of absorbency beyond the insert.
Nighttime
Shell + fitted diaper + insert
The fitted diaper goes on first (it has hip-tab closures and leg and back waist elastics to hold it securely), the snap-in insert lays on top for extra capacity, and the waterproof shell wraps around everything as the outer seal.
Assembly tip for first-time users
For nighttime use, the fitted diaper is the first full layer against the body — it has its own closures so it stays in place on its own. The snap-in insert then lays on top, usually inside the fitted diaper (most users prefer this), or directly in the shell's pocket opening. The shell wraps around as the waterproof outer. The bamboo fitted diaper handles the main absorbency; the insert adds capacity where you void most; and the pocket shell contains everything with its soft lining against your skin.

What makes this system work overnight

Waterproof PUL outer
A polyurethane laminate outer keeps moisture contained all night. Quiet in movement, soft to the touch, and doesn't crinkle during sleep.

Bamboo-rayon inner lining
The layer that sits against your skin is 100% rayon from bamboo — soft, moisture-wicking, and gentle during extended overnight wear. Particularly important for hours of continuous contact while you sleep.

Built-in wet-zone booster
A thin absorbent booster sewn into the shell's wet zone adds small additional capacity on top of the insert and fitted diaper — a feature the Diaper Cover and most competing shells don't have.

Bamboo-cotton fitted handles compression leaks
Overnight means constant body pressure on the absorbent layers, which can squeeze microfiber inserts into releasing moisture they've already absorbed. The bamboo-cotton fitted diaper beneath the insert catches what microfiber releases under compression — a specific overnight leak problem this kit is built to solve.

Leg and waist elastics on the fitted diaper
The fitted diaper has gentle elastics around the legs and back waist that create a secure fit through sleep movement — particularly useful for side and back sleepers who might otherwise shift out of position.

Reusable — machine washable
All three components wash the same way. Most customers keep 3–5 complete kits in rotation so there's always a clean set ready each night.

Sized by hip circumference — not waist

Measure around the widest part of your hips, below the hip bone. Do not use your waist measurement — fit depends on hip circumference.

Size Hip circumference Rise (front to back)
Small 24–38 in (61–97 cm) 21–25 in (54–64 cm)
Medium 27–44 in (69–112 cm) 26–30 in (67–77 cm)
Large 30–51 in (76–130 cm) 30–36 in (76–92 cm)

If you're between sizes, size up for comfort and a better leak seal at the legs.

Is this the right setup for you?
This kit works well if...
You need reliable overnight protection, want a reusable system that replaces disposables at night, and are happy to use the same shell for daytime protection with just the insert. It's particularly well-suited to heavy wetters, those who void multiple times overnight, anyone who's experienced compression leaks from microfiber-only systems under sleep pressure, and anyone who prefers the cushioned feel of a bamboo-rayon lining against skin during long continuous wear.
The trade-off to know upfront
With the fitted diaper inside the shell, this is a bulky nighttime setup — that's expected and intentional. It's not designed for discreet daytime wear at full capacity. For daytime use, the shell and insert alone provide a lower-profile fit.
You may want the Diaper Cover Day & Night Set instead if...
You'd prefer a cover that can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes during daytime use (meaning less daily laundry), or you want a more durable double-layer PUL waterproof barrier. The Diaper Cover trades the fabric lining and built-in wet-zone booster for durability and wash reduction — pick based on which matters more to you.
New to cloth diapers?
The nighttime assembly is a little more involved than a simple insert system — the fitted diaper goes on first as its own layer, then the insert, then the shell wraps around everything. Once you've done it a couple of times it becomes routine. EcoAble's setup video walks through it clearly.

Washing all three components
Machine washable Cold or warm rinse first No fabric softeners Air dry or tumble low

All three components can be washed and dried together. Run a cold or warm rinse cycle first, then a full wash with detergent. Avoid fabric softeners — they coat bamboo and microfiber fibers and reduce absorbency over time. All three pieces can be tumble dried on low, though air drying the shell extends the life of the waterproof layer.

Store used pieces in a wet bag until wash day. Most customers rotate 3–5 complete kits so there's always a clean set ready each night. Because the pocket shell has a fabric lining against skin, the shell needs a full wash after each use — unlike the Diaper Cover, which can be wiped and reused between daytime uses.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the daytime kits?
The shell and snap-in insert are the same. The difference is the third piece — this kit includes a bamboo-rich fitted diaper instead of a prefold booster pad. The fitted diaper is a full absorbent undergarment with its own closures and leg/waist elastics, worn inside the shell. It gives significantly more overnight capacity than a flat booster alone and stays in place better during sleep movement.
How is this different from the Diaper Cover Day & Night Set?
Both kits combine a shell, a snap-in insert, and a bamboo-rich fitted diaper. The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon fabric lining and a pocket opening, plus a thin built-in booster in the wet zone — more cushioned against your skin. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining, but it uses a double layer of PUL for a stronger, more durable waterproof barrier, and the cover can be wiped and reused between washes during daytime use. Pocket for cushion; Cover for a tougher waterproof barrier and less daily laundry.
How do I assemble it for nighttime use?
Three layers in order from inside out. First, put on the fitted diaper — it has hip-tab closures and leg/back waist elastics so it stays in place on its own. Second, lay the snap-in insert on top of the fitted diaper for extra capacity. Third, wrap the pocket shell around everything using its hip tabs. The shell is the outermost leak-containment layer and has the soft bamboo-rayon lining against your skin.
Will this hold through the night for heavy wetting?
For most users, yes. The full three-layer setup handles multiple voidings overnight. The bamboo-cotton fitted diaper is particularly important here: it has high absorbent capacity and holds onto moisture well under the body pressure you experience during sleep, catching compression leaks that a microfiber-only system might allow. A small number of very heavy wetters add an extra insert or booster for additional capacity in the front.
Can I use just the shell and insert for daytime?
Yes — that's the intended daytime setup. The shell and snap-in insert together give you a lower-profile, moderate-absorbency option for everyday wear, while the fitted diaper waits for nighttime use. Unlike the Diaper Cover version, the pocket shell's fabric lining means the shell needs a full wash after each use — so rotation math is different: count on roughly one complete set per day of wear.
Is shipping discreet?
Yes. All EcoAble orders ship in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents on the outside.
How many kits do I need?
Most customers find 3–5 complete kits comfortable for nightly rotation — enough to wear, wash, and dry without running short. Start with 2–3 to find your preferred setup, then expand from there. Because the pocket shell needs a full wash after each use (unlike the Diaper Cover), you generally need one complete set per use rather than being able to reuse the shell between washes.

    Pocket Diaper 2.0 Simply Amazing

Published by Eddie on Mar 15th 2025

The pocket diaper is so versatile depending on your needs from a night time diaper with fitted diaper, and up to two booster pads for a customized absorbency to daytime diaper with just the pocket diaper for light leaks to moderate voids. To step it up, just add in a snap-in pad. I did try the night setup durning day for a heavy diaper. This was great to wear around the house but may not be practical for splashing out. I also wear just the pocket diaper in the pool as a pool diaper. No pads or fitted diaper, just the pocket diaper. All in all a great option for just about any situation.

    Great Product that works perfectly

Published by Unknown on Oct 2nd 2024

This is a great diaper system, the snaps keep everything straight and offer lots of height and width changes so you can wear them on waist or hips They also hold a lot of moisture especially with the outer shell I only wish the snap insert had snaps at both ends to keep it in-line with the fitted diaper - but that’s my only minor gripe Will definitely buy another in a size down

Fits well and hold up well

Published by D Berg on Jun 3rd 2024

I just got this set. I tested it out using Nighttime setup during day. It holds up very well. I do fully agree Nighttime setup is typical cloth bulky but its made for NIGHT. That setup held thru several wettings well. Using that setup properly at night also went well. I am a side sleeper and kept dry. But my nighttime wetting are a lot lower amount. After a few wetting, the bulk is no worse than good diapers in their wetness bulk. I will definitely be purchasing more after I try this thru a few washes.

    Brilliant and versatile system

Published by Jon on Jul 15th 2023

I have tried so many solutions, both disposable and reusable, for managing incontinence and this system really does tick almost every box. Using the bamboo diaper with the insert snapped in and the pocket diaper over the top gives a high absorbency solution that compares favourably with all the disposables I have used. Cloth will always have a bit of a disadvantage in bulkiness as it can’t compete with SAP when it comes to hold liquid, but it provides absorbency all over the diaper, so is great for side-sleepers etc. who struggle with other products. At home and at night the bulkiness is not a problem and the diaper is comfortable with the fleece lining giving a feel dry surface that doesn’t leave you feeling wet and is as good as any disposable and doesn’t form into clumps and break down over time. I guess it might leak with a real flooding as cloth does take some time to absorb, but I have never had that problem and never had a leak. During the day I tend to use the pocket diaper with the insert snapped in and this provides decent protection without being too bulky and noticeable, I don’t think any more so than a standard thick disposable diaper. Obviously there is a bit of a trade off with absorbency at that point, but I find that acceptable for me and it works for my needs. I’ve been using this as part of my kit for about 18 months now and it is still working well. I can see some small signs of wear, but nothing that is affecting functionality and I hope they keep going strong for a good while yet! My only complaint really is that because I am not US based it is very expensive to get delivered and initially I could only get via a reselling website, as the company couldn’t ship to the UK at that point, making it even worse. The good news is that now shipping to the UK is available straight from the ecoAble website although, still fairly expensive, but I can’t blame the company for this as they are simply passing on the costs of shipping providers. My ideal would be a partnership with a UK site who can afford to make use of wholesale rates for manufacturing and shipping to allow better access, but this is probably a pipe dream! In terms of price in general, reusable products are not cheap and quality products like these even less so, but the outlay is worth it as over time they will turn out less expensive.
