Pairs our pocket shell — with its soft bamboo-rayon lining and thin built-in wet-zone booster — with a bamboo-rayon and microfiber snap-in insert. Lower-profile fit, adjustable absorbency, and soft materials so you can go about your day with less to think about.
Designed for
Daytime wear where a discreet, cushioned fit matters
This kit pairs the EcoAble Pocket Cloth Diaper 2.0 with a snap-in insert — the standard setup for light to moderate daytime incontinence. The waterproof shell has a soft bamboo-rayon lining that sits against your skin and a thin built-in booster in the wet zone; the insert tucks into the pocket at the back of the shell for full absorbency. Lower in profile than most traditional adult diapers, and priced lower than buying the two pieces separately.
It won't disappear under every outfit — no absorbent product does — but with the right clothing choice, most people wearing this diaper move through their day without anyone knowing.
A note on clothing and discretion
Looser-fitting trousers, longer tops, and A-line styles work best for a discreet appearance. Fitted jeans or tight athletic wear may show some outline once the insert is in place. This isn't a limitation unique to this product — it's true of any absorbent undergarment. Knowing this upfront helps you plan.
How this differs from our Diaper Cover 2.0 kit
The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon inner lining with a pocket opening — you tuck the insert inside the pocket, and the lining sits against your skin. It also has a thin built-in booster in the wet zone, so it holds a little more on its own. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining and no built-in absorbency, but it uses a double layer of PUL — a stronger, more durable waterproof barrier. The cover can also be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes, which the Pocket Diaper can't. The Pocket Diaper kit is simpler, more cushioned, and slightly more absorbent on its own; the Diaper Cover kit has a tougher waterproof shell and means less daily laundry.
How it works
Adjustable absorbency — start light, add more when needed
The system has two parts: the waterproof pocket shell and a snap-in insert. The shell alone handles very light leaks on its own (thanks to the built-in wet-zone booster), or attach the insert for moderate daytime protection. If your needs are heavier, a prefold booster can be added underneath the insert inside the pocket (sold separately).
Shell only
Very light protection. Lowest profile. The built-in wet-zone booster catches small dribbles. Not enough for regular incontinence — shown here for reference.
This kit
Shell + snap-in insert
Light to moderate daytime protection. The most common setup for daily wear. Handles regular light to moderate leaks confidently.
+ Prefold booster
Higher absorbency. Adds bulk. Best for heavier needs or longer stretches between changes. Sold separately.
Key features
What sets this kit apart
Waterproof PUL outer
A polyurethane laminate outer acts as the moisture barrier. Quiet in movement, soft to the touch, and doesn't crinkle like disposables.
Bamboo-rayon inner lining
The layer that sits against your skin is 100% rayon from bamboo — soft, moisture-wicking, and gentle during extended wear. Absent from plain covers like our Diaper Cover 2.0.
Built-in wet-zone booster
A thin absorbent booster sewn into the wet zone gives the shell a small amount of absorbency on its own — a feature the Diaper Cover and most competing shells don't have.
Pocket opening for the insert
The pocket at the back of the shell holds the snap-in insert securely in place. Inserts stay put through movement rather than shifting around during the day.
Lower-profile fit
Less bulk than most traditional adult diapers. Adjustable hip tabs and rise snaps keep it securely in place without excess padding.
Reusable — no ongoing disposable cost
Machine washable after each use. A small rotation of 3–5 shells and inserts lasts through years of daily use and cuts ongoing incontinence product costs significantly.
Sizing
Sized by hip circumference — not waist
Measure around the widest part of your hips, below the hip bones. Do not use your waist measurement — the fit depends on hip circumference. The included insert is sized to match your shell automatically.

Honest assessment
Is this right for you?
This product works well if...
You have light to moderate daytime incontinence, you want a reusable option that reduces waste and ongoing cost, and you want the cushioned feel of a fabric lining against your skin and the simplicity of a pocket system that holds the insert in place.
You may want the Diaper Cover kit instead if...
You'd prefer a cover that can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes (meaning less daily laundry), or you want a more durable double-layer PUL waterproof barrier, or you want a system that can also wrap around a fitted diaper or a disposable later. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining, which some people prefer and others don't.
You may want something different if...
You have heavy incontinence or unpredictable leaks throughout the day — in that case, adding a prefold booster under the insert, or pairing with a fitted diaper, will serve you better. Our Maximum Protection kit and Day & Night Set bundle these configurations together.
New to cloth diapers?
This is one of the more beginner-friendly systems available. The snap-in insert makes absorbency adjustment simple, and the wash routine is straightforward once you're used to it. Most first-time users find their preferred setup within a week.
Care
Washing instructions
Machine washable Cold or warm rinse first No fabric softeners Air dry or tumble low
Wash after each use. The shell and insert can be washed and dried together. Run a cold or warm rinse cycle first, then a full wash with detergent. Avoid fabric softeners — they coat bamboo and microfiber fibers and reduce absorbency over time. Both the shell and insert can be tumble dried on low, though air drying the shell extends the life of the waterproof layer.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What's included?
One Pocket Cloth Diaper 2.0 shell and one matching snap-in insert — everything you need to get started with a reusable daytime system. Prefold booster pads for added absorbency and fitted diapers for overnight use are sold separately.
Will this feel like regular underwear?
Not exactly — it's an absorbent product, so there is more material than standard underwear. That said, the soft bamboo-rayon lining and lower-profile design get closer to that feeling than most traditional adult diapers. Clothing choice plays a big role in how it feels to wear throughout the day.
Can I wear this to work or in public?
Yes. It's designed for active daytime use. Many customers wear it throughout a full workday without issue. Looser clothing supports a more discreet appearance.
What's the difference between this kit and the Diaper Cover kit?
Both are complete reusable daytime setups with a waterproof shell and a snap-in insert. The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon lining, a pocket opening that holds the insert, and a thin built-in booster in the wet zone — so it's more cushioned and slightly more absorbent on its own. The Diaper Cover has no lining and no built-in booster, but it uses a double layer of PUL for a tougher waterproof barrier, and the cover can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes. Pocket for cushion and simplicity; Cover for durability and less daily laundry.
How do I prevent leaks?
Fit is the most important factor. Make sure the leg openings sit snugly without digging in, the insert is fully tucked inside the pocket, and that you're using the right absorbency level for your needs. A properly fitted shell with the right insert will handle most daytime situations.
How many do I need?
Most users find 3–5 shell-and-insert pairs comfortable for daily rotation — enough to wear, wash, and dry without running out. Start with 2–3 to find your preferred setup, then expand from there. Because the pocket shell's fabric lining sits against skin, the shell needs a full wash after each use (unlike the Diaper Cover, which can be wiped and reused).
Can I use the insert with other EcoAble shells?
Yes. The snap-in insert in this kit is also compatible with our Diaper Cover 2.0 and Pull-On Diaper 2.0 shells if you expand your system later. All three shell types use the same snap system.
Is shipping discreet?
Yes. All EcoAble orders ship in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents on the outside.
