EcoAble Diaper Cover 2.0 — Maximum Protection Kit for Moderate to Heavy Daytime Incontinence
A complete 3-piece reusable adult diaper system — double-layer PUL cover, snap-in insert, and bamboo-cotton prefold booster — built for adults who need reliable, higher-absorbency protection throughout the day without switching to disposables.
Built for
Higher-absorbency protection without the bulk of a disposable
When reliable protection is the priority, the right setup needs more than a basic insert. This kit adds a bamboo-cotton prefold booster pad to the standard cover and snap-in insert, giving you a layered absorbency system that handles moderate to heavy daytime leaks with confidence — and holds up through longer stretches between changes.
This is the same EcoAble Diaper Cover 2.0 we sell with just an insert — double-layer PUL, wipe-and-reuse capable, compatible with other absorbent layers. The difference is what goes inside it: we chose a bamboo-cotton prefold booster stacked underneath the snap-in insert for two reasons. First, it adds significant absorbency without adding the bulk that a second snap-in insert would, so with proper clothing the kit stays reasonably discreet. Second, bamboo-cotton handles compression leaks better than microfiber alone — under pressure from sitting or a snug waistband, microfiber inserts can release some of what they've absorbed, and the bamboo-cotton booster underneath catches that before it reaches the cover.
How this differs from our Pocket Diaper Maximum Protection Kit
Both kits combine a shell, a snap-in insert, and a prefold booster. The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon fabric inner lining with a pocket opening — you stuff the insert and booster inside the pocket, and the lining sits against your skin. It also has a thin built-in booster in the wet zone. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining and no built-in booster, but it uses a double layer of PUL for a stronger, more durable waterproof barrier, and the cover can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes. Pocket for cushion and simplicity; Cover for durability and less daily laundry.
What's included
A complete 3-piece system — ready to use out of the box
Cover
Diaper Cover 2.0
Double-layer Polyurethane Laminate (PUL) waterproof shell. Adjustable hip tabs and rise snaps. The waterproof foundation of the system — and the piece that can be wiped and reused between washes.
Insert
Snap-In Insert
Bamboo-rayon outer, microfiber core. Snaps directly inside the cover. Adds moderate absorbency on its own.
Booster
Prefold Booster Pad
70% bamboo-rayon / 30% cotton. Lays under the snap-in insert for extra capacity. The piece that makes this a heavy-protection setup.
How absorbency works
Three layers, one system — use what you need
This kit is designed to be used at full capacity, but the layered design means you can scale back when you don't need the maximum setup. Having all three pieces gives you flexibility across different times of day and activity levels.
Cover only
Waterproof only. No absorbency on its own. Included here for reference — the cover still needs an insert to function.
Cover + snap-in insert
Light to moderate protection. Standard daytime setup for everyday wear.
Cover + insert + prefold booster This kit
Maximum daytime protection. Full three-layer setup for moderate to heavy daytime incontinence, longer stretches between changes, or situations where a leak would be especially disruptive (travel, work, errands).
Key features
What makes this system work
Double-layer PUL cover
Two layers of Polyurethane Laminate — stronger and more durable than single-layer PUL covers. A more reliable leak barrier at higher absorbency levels, where containment matters most.
Wipe, air out, and reuse the cover
The cover has no absorbent fabric on the inside, so it can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes — unless soiled. At maximum absorbency, only the insert and booster need a full wash each time.
Layered absorbency
Three components stack inside the cover — booster at the bottom, insert on top. The microfiber core of the insert pulls liquid in quickly, the bamboo-cotton booster holds it and catches any compression leaks that microfiber can release under pressure, and the waterproof cover seals everything in.
Adjustable fit
Hip tabs and rise snaps allow a customizable fit. Important with any higher-absorbency setup — a proper leg seal is what prevents leaks when you're using three layers.
Reusable — no ongoing disposable cost
All three components are machine washable. No ongoing disposable costs. A small rotation of 2–3 covers with 3–5 insert-and-booster pairs lasts through years of daily use.
Versatile beyond this kit
The cover can also wrap around a fitted diaper for overnight use, or around a disposable for extra leak insurance during travel. The insert and booster work with any EcoAble adult shell if you expand your system later.

Sizing
Sized by hip circumference — not waist
Measure around the widest part of your hips, below the hip bones. Do not use your waist measurement — fit depends on hip circumference. The included insert is sized to match your cover automatically.

If you're between sizes, size up for comfort and a better leak seal at the legs — a good leg seal is especially important with the added absorbency in this kit.
Honest assessment
Is this the right setup for you?
This kit works well if...
You have moderate to heavy daytime incontinence, you want to extend the time between changes, and you want reliable absorbency without the bulk of a traditional adult disposable. This is also a strong choice if you've tried insert-only cloth diapers and found them not quite enough — or if you want a cover you can wipe and reuse between washes, cutting down on daily laundry.
The trade-off to know upfront
Three layers of absorbency means some added thickness compared to the insert-only kit — though we chose a bamboo-cotton prefold booster rather than a second snap-in insert specifically because it adds absorbency without the bulk a second insert would. The kit fits well under looser clothing like relaxed trousers and longer tops. Fitted jeans or tight athletic wear may show some outline. If a truly slim daytime profile is your top priority, the insert-only kit is the better starting point.
You may want the Pocket Diaper Maximum Protection Kit instead if...
You prefer a soft fabric lining against your skin rather than the cover's inner PUL surface. The Pocket Diaper also has a thin built-in booster in the wet zone. The Diaper Cover kit trades those features for a more durable waterproof barrier and a cover that can be wiped and reused — pick based on which matters more to you.
New to cloth diapers?
This system has a short learning curve. The snap-in insert and lay-in booster are straightforward to assemble, and the adjustable fit means you can dial it in over your first few wears. Most users find their preferred combination within a week.
Care
Washing all three components
Cover: wipe and reuse up to 3–4 times Insert and booster: wash after each use Cold or warm rinse first No fabric softeners Air dry or tumble low
The cover and absorbent layers can be washed and dried together — but they don't have to be used on the same schedule. Between uses, wipe the cover with a damp cloth and let it air out, reusing it up to 3–4 times unless soiled. The insert and prefold booster need a full wash after each use. When either piece goes in the wash, run a cold or warm rinse cycle first, then a full wash with detergent. Avoid fabric softeners — they coat bamboo and microfiber fibers and reduce absorbency over time. All three components can be tumble dried on low, though air drying the cover extends the life of the waterproof layer.
Store used pieces in a wet bag until wash day. Most users keep 2–3 covers and 3–5 insert-and-booster pairs in rotation — fewer covers than absorbent layers because the cover can be reused between washes.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
What's included?
One Diaper Cover 2.0, one matching snap-in insert, and one bamboo-cotton prefold booster pad. All three pieces are included — nothing sold separately for the core setup.
How does this differ from the insert-only Diaper Cover kit?
The cover and snap-in insert are the same. This kit adds the bamboo-cotton prefold booster pad, which lays underneath the insert inside the cover for significantly more absorbency. Same foundation, built for heavier needs.
How does this differ from the Pocket Diaper Maximum Protection Kit?
Both kits combine a shell, insert, and booster. The Pocket Diaper has a soft bamboo-rayon fabric lining and a pocket opening, plus a thin built-in booster in the wet zone — more cushioned and slightly more absorbent on its own. The Diaper Cover has no fabric lining and no built-in booster, but it uses a double layer of PUL for a tougher waterproof barrier, and the cover itself can be wiped and reused up to 3–4 times between washes. Pocket for cushion; Cover for durability and less daily laundry.
Can I use just the insert without the booster?
Yes. You don't have to use all three layers every time. Many customers use the full setup during the day and scale back to just the insert for lower-demand periods or lighter activities. Having all three pieces gives you flexibility.
Is this bulky under clothing?
Less than you might expect for a three-layer setup. We chose a bamboo-cotton prefold booster rather than a second snap-in insert because it adds significant absorbency without the bulk that two inserts would create. You'll notice a fuller fit than the insert-only version, and fitted jeans or tight athletic wear may show some outline, but under looser trousers or longer tops it stays reasonably discreet.
How do I prevent leaks?
Fit is the most important factor, especially with a higher-absorbency setup. Make sure the leg openings sit snugly without digging in, and that the insert and booster are fully tucked inside the cover — no fabric poking out past the leg elastics will wick moisture out. If the cover sags or shifts during wear, try sizing down so you get a better leg seal.
Can the cover really be wiped and reused between washes?
Yes, as long as it isn't soiled. Because the Diaper Cover has no absorbent fabric on the inside, the PUL surface can be wiped down with a damp cloth, aired out, and reused up to 3–4 times before needing a full wash. The insert and booster still need to be washed after each use. This is why you generally need fewer covers than absorbent layers in rotation.
How many kits do I need?
Most customers find 2–3 covers paired with 3–5 insert-and-booster sets comfortable for daily rotation. That's fewer covers than absorbent layers, since the cover can be wiped and reused between washes. Start with 2 covers and a few insert-and-booster sets, then expand once you know what works.
Can I use the cover for things other than this kit?
Yes. The Diaper Cover is versatile: it can be wrapped around a fitted diaper for overnight use, or around a disposable diaper as extra leak insurance for travel or heavy voids. The snap-in insert in this kit also works with our Pocket Diaper 2.0 and Pull-On Diaper 2.0 shells if you expand your system later.
Is shipping discreet?
Yes. All EcoAble orders ship in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents on the outside.
